What Makes Them Stand Out?
We know how much your first introduction to skiing and snowboarding can be very make or break, standing as the deciding factor in if snowsports will become a lifelong hobby or just a distant memory of the time you spent falling over and crying in the snow. That’s why we didn’t want to just offer the same standard ski school experience with our Futures Camps, instead tailoring a comprehensive on-snow experience that allows young rippers to bond with the same coach and participants all week long, in turn growing and achieving their goals in a fun and supportive network of other riders.
But let’s break it down, what’s actually included?
Week-long lessons, running between 9 - 3 Monday to Friday.
Lunch included everyday at different mountain locations
The same coach and group all week
Maximum 6 children per group
Progression booklet for each child
Why Kids Camps are the best option for your young rippers
Free Time For You And Your Partner
As a parent on holiday, you never really switch off and have the time to relax. Crying kids, making sure everyone's dietary needs are catered for, exhausting travel times, there’s a lot of moving factors that can quite easily (and often) turn stressful. By dropping the kids off to a daily program all week long, it’ll give you and your partner some much needed R&R time, while also giving you the option to explore harder terrain, enjoy a few après and try Japan’s favourite sushi. Because if there’s one thing everyone knows, it’s that your 8 year old is going to be less than stoked when they get served up a slice of raw tuna.
The Correct Tips
“I’ve been skiing my whole life, I should be fine to teach them.”
Famous last words if we’ve ever heard them. If you’ve ever seen a struggling parent hovering ⅔’s down the run with burning calves while they wait for their crying loved ones, they are most certainly the people who decided they were good enough to teach their friends and family. Sometimes all you need is the correct approach, the perfect phrasing or tip, and all of a sudden, you start to understand.
That’s where certified instructors become a beginners best friend. Having had years of experience with beginners of all different shapes, sizes, nationalities and ability levels, instructors have an unmatched ability to hone-in on the style of learner that your young one identifies as and personalise the lesson in a way that’ll work best for them.
Not only that, but by having an instructor there from the get-go, young rippers will learn the correct techniques straight away. Making it a lot easier when they start riding more challenging terrain down the line–because it’s always a lot easier to expand on a solid foundation than it is to rewrite bad techniques you previously learnt.
A Great Way To Make Friends
We don’t know the science behind it, but friends who shred together, stick together–especially when they discovered the sport together. Weekly lessons with kids the same age is a great way to foster the sense of fun and community that so many of us found when we discovered snowsports, especially if you’re both planning on coming back next year.
Even if you aren’t currently, you will be planning to come back, everyone who comes to Niseko and discovers just how epic powder snow is always comes back.
Free Lunch = More Yennies On The Things That Matter
No one wants to live on a daily budget for their holiday, yet everyone does. Break free of the shackles of ¥1,500 a day and enjoy extra cash to spend on important things like goodies, new retail wear and of course, lifelong experiences with the fam.
Alright, this all sounds great but we might book that in closer to the date
Hmmmm, are you sure about that?
Over the 2024/25 winter season, Niseko United’s four interconnected ski resorts, Hanazono, Grand Hirafu, Annupuri and Niseko Village welcomed over 11.3 million lift and gondola rides, marking a 13.5% year-on-year increase. So when we say ‘Niseko is in hot demand’ we really mean it.
Our tip, start booking now and reap all the perks of being ‘the early bird.’
I’m listening, tell me more about these ‘perks’.
Not only does booking early ensure that you have the best gear to ride on, the best instructors in the region, and most importantly, a bed to sleep in, there’s also a stack of other benefits that make booking early well-worth it if you’re planning on coming to Niseko.
Cheap, cheaper, cheaper
Discount accommodation, massive savings on rentals and huge early bird sales on lessons, guiding and touring programs, if you’re looking to save a few yennies for this ski trip, we suggest taking advantage of early bird sales!
Did we say cheap?
Ok, so the massive discounts are by far the biggest perk of booking early, but what more could you ever need than shredding pow with a back pocket loaded with cash?
