Winter Rental Booking Terms & Conditions

1.1 What's Covered:

1.1.1 Your rental includes insurance for common, repairable  damage like:

  • Base scratches (P-Tex repairs)

  • Edge tuning and sharpening

  • Small patches or core shots

1.2 What’s Not Covered:

1.2.1 If gear is misused but still repairable, you'll be charged the cost of a full tune-up.

1.2.2 If gear is damaged beyond repair or lost/stolen:

  • Premium/Backcountry gear: charged up to the cost of a 14-day rental

  • Standard gear: charged up to the cost of a 10-day rental

Examples of what’s not covered:

  • Gear ruined from misuse (like skiing on roads)

1.3 Exceptions:

1.3.1 If it’s a product fault covered under warranty, you won’t be charged.

1.3.2 Normal wear and tear? Totally fine—no charge.

1.3.3 For lost/damaged bicycles, the replacement cost is based on the original bike’s value.

2.1 Want to cancel or change your booking?

2.1.1 Cancel more than 48 hours before your start date = Full refund

2.1.2 Reduce your booking more than 48 hours ahead = We’ll refund the difference

2.1.3 Cancel or reduce within 48 hours = Store credit valid for the current season, in any Rhythm Japan store

2.1.4  If you use more than what was booked, you can pay the difference in-store

2.2 Full refunds apply for:

  • Full mountain closures

  • Extreme weather

  • Injury or illness

  • Flight cancellation or full-day delay

Please note:

  • Flywire, our payment platform, may charge a small processing fee (up to 1%) for refunds.

Skiing and snowboarding are outdoor activities that come with serious risk. We strongly recommend that all customers (including anyone you're renting equipment for) have insurance that covers snow sports both in and out of resort boundaries.

By accepting the rental equipment, you confirm the following for yourself and anyone you’re renting for:

3.1 You understand and accept these terms and conditions.

3.2 You provided accurate information for proper equipment setup.

3.3 You understand that boot and binding systems may not always release as expected, and there's no guarantee of injury prevention.

3.4 You acknowledge the inherent risk of injury or property damage from snow and summer sports—even when using proper safety gear.

3.5 You take full responsibility for any injuries, damage, or losses involving the use of rental equipment.

3.6 You are responsible for making good on any injury or damage to yourself, third parties, or property caused while using rental equipment.

3.7 You understand that activities like backcountry touring, off-piste riding, or leaving resort boundaries involve additional risks. If you go beyond the resort, we strongly recommend carrying (and knowing how to use) avalanche safety gear—beacon, shovel, and probe.

3.8 Any unpaid balance may be charged to your credit card after return.

4.1 Kid’s rates are determined by age.  Children aged 13 and under get kids’ pricing.

5.1 Premium Rentals:

5.1.1 Swap skis or snowboards anytime based on snow conditions

5.1.2 Includes FREE waxing for changing snow temps

5.1.3 Can’t guarantee availability if you want to swap back—gear may be in use

5.2 Standard Rentals:

5.2.1 Basic models suited for beginners

5.2.2 Upgrading to Premium gear is recommended for better performance

5.3 Bike Rentals:

5.3.1 Can swap within the same category (if stock allows)

6.1 Prebooked ski and snowboard customers can pick up from 1:00 PM the day before your rental begins.  All other ski and snowboard rentals start from 3:00 PM

6.2 Keep gear until 10:00 AM the day after your rental ends

6.3 We offer a free pickup service on your first rental day—just call us 20–30 mins before you’d like a ride

6.4 Bike rentals start on the rental date; no pickup service in summer

7.1 Return gear to any Rhythm store or approved Drop and Go (rental return) location by 10:00 AM the day after your rental ends

7.2 You must be staying at the Drop and Go return location to leave gear there

7.3 Bikes must be returned before store closing time on the last day of your rental.

7.4 If you are unable to return your equipment on time, overdue fees may apply

8.1 Prices are in Japanese Yen and include 10% consumption tax

8.2 Full payment is required when you book

8.3 If your booking includes a lesson or guide, Rhythm Rides payment rules, terms and conditions apply
