Safety First

At Futures, safety is our top priority. All participants must wear helmets, and our team maintains the highest safety standards throughout all sessions. We recommend long sleeves and gloves for additional protection on the trails.

Skill Levels & Groups

We offer specialised coaching for different ability levels:

  • Beginners: Perfect for young riders new to mountain biking or those building foundational skills

  • Intermediates: For riders with basic skills ready to progress

Training Locations

Our carefully selected trail locations provide the perfect environment for skill development. Training locations in the early weeks of the program when we are building essential skills will be scheduled at locations outside of the bike park.

Once basic skills are developed to ensure safe use of the park; the groups will use the NAMBA free trails & Grand Hirafu bike park for the sessions.

Please see the program overview for a weekly overview of training locations.

Training Goals

By the end of the program all riders should have developed basic mountain bike skills, including:

  • Basic stance - mobility & basic body position

  • Propulsion & breaking skills

  • Imbalance management

  • Making turns with a variety of techniques

  • Crossing obstacles

  • Basic air

  • Absorption skills

We have three groups:

Mini Futures Strider (ages 3–5, 8:30–10:00am), Mini Futures Pedal Bike (ages 3–5, 10:30am–12:00pm), and Futures MTB for ages 6–14 (1:30–4:30pm). All groups run every Sunday, 21 June – 27 September.

Bikes are not included. Participants need to bring their own bike, or can rent one through Rhyt

Helmet (mandatory), comfortable clothing (long sleeves and pants recommended), sneakers with a flat sole, hat, water, and sunscreen. Note: a lift pass may be required for some sessions and is not included in the program price.

Three options are available: a Drop-in rate (walk-in on the day), an 8-Session Pass (8 pre-booked sessions), and a Season Pass (guaranteed weekly spot for the full season, plus a complimentary 1-hour skate lesson). Season Passes are capped per class - we recommend purchasing early.

Yes. To keep class sizes small and quality high, Season Pass numbers are limited. Once a class reaches its cap, Season Passes for that program will no longer be available. The 8-Session Pass remains available throughout the season.
