Tips From The Team: Travelling With Toddlers

Find yourself getting to the stage of parenthood where all the T’s are slowly but surely coming true?

The ‘Terrible Twos’ and ‘Travelling With Toddlers?’ Yep, we know it can be tough, especially when you throw a ski holiday into the mix and now you’ve got a crying toddler covered in snow…

But ski holidays with the kids don’t have to be stressful. In fact, they can be super easy, with programs like kids weeks, private ski lessons and kid activity groups being epic outlets for young parents wanting the best of pow worlds (a family holiday AND a pow holiday.)

That being said, we wanted to put all your pre-travel plans to bed. So we caught up with Grace Kelly, Rhythm Rides’ Kids Program Supervisor, to get her tips on tricks on bringing the young ones to the snow for the first time. And most importantly, how to get them to fall in  love with the snow as we all did.

Here's her tips:

Tip 1: It Starts At Home

"Getting your groms in love with skiing or snowboarding starts at home. Rent your gear the night before and get them to try on their gear and feel what it's like to move and be in the gear in the comfort of their safe space!"

Tip 2: Layering Is a must

"Dressing kids in the right layers is really important. More isn't always better. Get a good thermal, a substantial mid layer and a good waterproof jacket with lots of pockets for snacks!"

Tip 3: It's All About Fun

"Safety and fun is the main objective to your first day with your groms on snow. Play lots of games laugh a lot and warm up inside whenever it starts to feel overwhelming."

Tip 4: Use Tools To Learn The Techniques
